Experience
What makes me a great tutor is my desire to share my skills and techniques with students. When I tell people I was able to graduate college in only three years with a 4.0 GPA, people instantly think I am some sort of genius or I pulled constant all-nighters. However, I do not consider myself an overly intelligent person and I never stayed up past 11:00 p.m. to complete an assignment. Instead, I owe my success to my ability to work hard, and work smart. I attribute much of my success to truly learning how I learn best. What I found in my experiences tutoring is that each student has a different way to learn. A teacher or professor cannot cater to each one of these students. Therefore, some students succeed while others struggle. I learned that as a tutor I must adapt my teaching methods in order to assist every student. As each student is different, each tutoring method/plan must also be different. I do not generate cookie-cutter responses for students. I like to take the time to get to know each student in order to properly assess their learning needs. I have experience tutoring all subjects, but I specialize in writing and editing as well as teaching study/organization skills.
